How GDPR Protects EU Citizens’ Data

GDPR outlines the rights of EU citizens in regard to their personal data, which includes the right to know who is collecting this data, the purpose for collecting it and how long it will be stored. GDPR also requires the disclosure of data breaches and gives individuals the right to delete their personal data and prevent their data from being shared with third parties. Furthermore, GDPR mandates that individuals must provide their explicit consent before their personal data can be collected, processed, or transmitted.

GDPR’s Impact Worldwide

GDPR not only affects organizations located within EU borders but also those outside EU borders, including United States healthcare providers who conduct business in the EU. The financial penalties for GDPR violations can range up to 4% of the organization’s global annual revenue or 20 million euros (whichever is higher). As a result, GDPR has caused organizations worldwide to reexamine their approaches in handling personal data and to put more stringent data protection measures in place.

Conclusion

GDPR represents a significant milestone in data protection by giving individuals greater control over their personal information. Companies worldwide should recognize the importance of GDPR and take measures to conform to these regulations to show their commitment to protecting their users’ personal data. We invite our users located in the EU to opt in to the data we collect to receive a personalized web experience.
