Linda A. Fishel was born on November 5, 1965, in Gouverneur, New York, to Delbert J. and Joyce C. (Boshane) Wilson. She graduated from Gouverneur Central School in 1983 and later pursued a career in finance and IT.

Career in Healthcare

Linda worked at Gouverneur Hospital for 39 years, where she made significant contributions as a financial analyst and head of IT department. Her dedication and expertise were instrumental in improving patient care, enhancing hospital operations, and strengthening community health services. Linda’s commitment to excellence and passion for healthcare inspired many colleagues throughout her career.

A Life Devoted to Family

Family was the cornerstone of Linda’s life. On September 22, 1990, she married Randy Fishel, and they began a wonderful journey together. Linda and Randy were blessed with a daughter, Erica, and son-in-law, Drew Hilborne, and a beloved grandson, Rhett Hilborne. Linda cherished every moment with her family and instilled in them values of love, respect, and compassion. Her legacy of kindness and generosity will live on through her family and all those she touched.

Memorial Service and Condolences

Linda A. Fishel, age 58, passed away on Tuesday, July 2, 2024, at Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester. Her calling hours will be on Thursday, July 11, 2024, from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm at the Gouverneur Community Center, with the funeral service to follow on Friday, July 12th at 11:00 am at the same location. Arrangements are with French Funeral Home, Gouverneur. Condolences may be shared online at www.frenchfuneralhomes.com.
